In Hidden In Plain Sight, Kim A. Tolman assembles fragments of old Hollywood into a strange, dreamlike scene where glamour slips into mystery. Painted passages and torn imagery merge with figures, faces, architecture, and unexpected creatures, giving the work the feel of a half-remembered film still. Created as a playful side project, the piece is lighter and more graphic than much of her painting practice, while still carrying her interest in mood, composition, and narrative ambiguity.
