High and Dry carries the feeling of something left exposed after the storm has moved on. Against a dark, weathered field of gray and black, vivid orange forms flare like embers, signals, or remnants of heat still refusing to go out. The title suggests abandonment, survival, and the strange clarity that comes after being stranded. With its scraped textures and flashes of fire, the painting feels caught between aftermath and ignition — not quite extinguished, not quite safe, but very much alive.
